Step 1: Add Vocal IP SMS from Microsoft Teams App Store

  • In the Microsoft Teams sidebar, click the ellipsis (⋯) button and select Get more apps.
  • Alternatively, click Apps in the Microsoft Teams sidebar
  • Search for ‘Vocal IP SMS’ — the app tile will appear.
  • Click on the Vocal IP SMS app tile, then click the Add button to install it into Teams.

Step 2: Grant User Permissions

  • Click the Continue button to grant permission and allow Vocal IP SMS to integrate with Microsoft Teams.

Step 3: Access Vocal IP SMS

  • If your Microsoft account email isn’t registered with Vocal IP SMS, a registration page will appear.
  • Enter your credentials
  • Once registered, you’ll be automatically signed in using your Microsoft Teams profile, and the Vocal IP SMS messaging platform will open.

Step 4: Pin Vocal IP SMS to the Microsoft Teams Sidebar

For quick and easy access on both desktop and mobile:

  • Right-click the Vocal IP SMS icon in the Microsoft Teams sidebar.
  • Select Pin. This keeps Vocal IP SMS on your sidebar every time you open Teams on desktop or mobile.

Why is this happening?

If you’re not receiving message notifications from Vocal IP SMS, it’s often due to disabled notification settings in either Windows or Microsoft Teams.

How to Resolve It:

1. Check Windows Notification Settings

  • Open Windows Settings (press Windows Key + I or search for Settings).
  • Navigate to System > Notifications.
  • Ensure notifications are enabled by toggling the switch On.

2. Verify Microsoft Teams Notification Settings

  • Open Teams and click the ellipsis () next to your profile avatar (top-right corner).
  • Select Settings > Notifications & Activity.
  • Make sure notifications are turned On and configured to your preference.
